The inspiration for this film came from the memories I have of being in that hospital bed. I remember the fear. I remember laying on my back looking at that ceiling.... Broken ribs, collapsed lungs, broken arm, shattered vertebra, chest tubes to my lungs and a feeding tube through my nose. I was in bad condition.
I didn't understand why this happen to me. I didn't think I would ever recover let alone have any kind of life if I was paralyzed! The months that followed I felt depressed, discourage, and confused. Not knowing anyone in a wheelchair or having people who knew my struggle, made me believe I could not continue to find enjoyment in this life. - I wanted to die.
NO ONE should feel that way! We have a huge community of Survivors! We are all here for your support. I learned that there is LIFE AFTER INJURY and its easier when we teach each other, learn from each other, and support one another. This is just 17 minutes of friends who have kept living. There are so many other sports, hobbies, and things you will find love doing regardless of the challenge ahead. May this film help you see life is not over and inspire you to keep pushing!
